Drain-Age Septic Tank Systems

At Drain-Age, we provide top-tier septic tank systems, designed in accordance with the latest Environment Agency regulations in England.

Modern septic tanks, crafted from high-density polyethylene or fiberglass, offer a robust and reliable solution for wastewater treatment. Older septic systems, often made from brick or blockwork, may have multiple chambers but lack the advanced materials and design of newer models.

The operation of a septic tank is straightforward yet effective. Solid waste is retained within the tank, while liquid effluent filters out into a drainage field, where further treatment occurs. The anaerobic environment within the tank helps to break down some organic matter, although the primary treatment relies on the drainage field’s efficiency.

For a septic system to function properly, it requires well-draining subsoil and sufficient space, ideally on level ground, to establish a drainage field. New installations must discharge to a drainage field, as the Environment Agency does not permit direct discharge into watercourses.

If a septic tank system utilizes any other type of soakaway, an Environment Agency permit is necessary. However, obtaining such a permit is challenging due to the potential risk of groundwater contamination.

Drain-Age is your trusted partner for modern, compliant, and environmentally safe septic tank systems. Choose us for reliable wastewater management solutions that meet all regulatory standards.
